The Multi-Colored Carpet Runner

A soft and durable carpet runner can have more than one half dozen different colors, if it happens to be a Persian carpet. Homeowners that want to enhance the beauty of a hallway should remember names such as Nourison and Momeni. Those names have become linked to some much admired Persian rugs.

Unlike many synthetic runners, and contrary to the typical sisal rug, those runners crafted by Persians display a multitude of different colors. Normally, those colors appear in a pattern, a pattern that fits well into a long thin rug. That long thin floor covering usually features a colorful border and an interesting central design. Both the border and the central design often contain more than one floral pattern. Like the flowers found in nature, the floral designs come in more than one color.

Because these runners contain so many different colors, they can be used to link together the colors in two different rooms. However, the homemaker that has that goal in mind should begin her decorating efforts with the purchase of multi-colored carpet runner. She can then select one or two colors from that runner, and use them in whatever rooms come off of the rug covered hallway.

Of course, when a homemaker has chosen to use a stair carpet runner, then she should have less reason to be concerned about matching colors in upstairs and downstairs rooms. She would, however, need to make certain that the piece placed on the stairs remains firmly on the steps, the steps that it is intended to beautify.

Still, it would not make much sense to run around looking for a stairway carpet, after furnishing each room on both levels of a home. The rug on the stairs or in the hallway should not contrast sharply with the colors in the living, dining and sleeping quarters.
